All this fuss over some tweets. You folks are aware that Trump NEVER contacted The Pentagon about this right? They were actually reeling over this, like "You never said anything about this to us!" It's actually bizarre because, as Commander in Chief, he has every ability to ban whoever from the military with a snap of his fingers. One phonecall, literally. But instead he just tweets about it and leaves it at that, no transgender ban after all.
On the same day, he also made some tweets about God and such. So at the end the day, these tweets served two purposes: 1) Distracting fluff. It was a limp attempt to distract from the fact that his healthcare bill is failing for the upteenth time. 2) Some red meat for his evangelical base. Trump recently had a falling-out with his man Jeff Secessions. Jeffy is an irredeemable piece of shit, but Trump's evangelical base really likes him because Jeff is a Good Christian Man. Trump fears he might lose some supporters over this, so he wants to remind his base that he is also a Good Christian Man because he hates trannies and pays lip-service to God. Some 4D chess I guess. My own thoughts on the potential issue: 1) The military wastes a LOT of money on things far worse than tranny needs. Not even a drop in the bucket. The thing is that contractors rip the military the fuck off and marks up all supplies sold to them at x10 markup. It costs the military ten times the money to buy a radio headset than it would just to put one together yourself at a Radioshack. We currently have the greatest military in human history, but we could operate at like a tenth of the current cost. (That is, we could if Trump was anywhere near the expert deal-maker he played himself up to be.) Tranny needs can be looked once we figured out the bigger problem of military spending. 2) Imagine being so bigoted that you exclude trannies from dying in wars over oil. Mind-boggling.
