As long as Trump is in office, things will continue to get worse & worse for this country. Neither the Republicans/The GOP will do anything about him because they're in bed with Trump. Just now, he pardoned Joe Arpario.

It's time to accept it, people. This country is becoming a laughing stock in the eyes of other countries & regions, & it's only going to continue to get worse. There is absolutely no hope whatsoever. None.

I think we became the laughingstock when ISIS began ravaging the Middle East and Syria behind Obama's back.

Trump does not hate minorities or LGBTs at all. Therefore I'd have to go with the planet.

You already were when Bush invaded Iraq for the most dishonest of reasons. It didn't help when your medias refused to even challenge him for fear of being labelled "un-american".

Trolls, man...

He's an admitted troll.

He fessed up to it when one of his dumb troll posts backfired and a significant portion of the board spent months trolling him for that.

Not surprisingly the conservatroll can't take what he dishes out.

Ask him if he still beats his sister?

His actions? Donald Trump held up an LGBT pride flag that said "LGBTs for Trump" and smiled.

His words? Donald Trump spoke up for the human rights of LGBT Americans--explicitly--at the Republican National Convention, and even ad-lipped a grateful response when those words were cheered by an audience he wasn't sure (as Republicans) would do so by Reputation.

You can try all you like to pretend those events did not happen, or that they were not genuine expressions of who he is as a person and what kind of leader he would like to be. But they did happen. And they did portend actual dividends for LGBT Americans. He has kept in place the Obama administration ban on discrimination of LGBTs by federal contractors. Multiple members of his administration condemned the state-sanctioned violence against gays in Chechnya. His education secretary has also spoken of the need to protect transgender students against harassment.

But I believe you have chosen to make the classic mistake of confusing conservative policy positions that stand against exhaustive expansions of civil rights with actual and political animosity against particular demographics. That is a vicious falsehood, and I must admonish you to stop diminishing your character by engaging in it.

behind his back? on the contrary, he and Kerry eagerly sat by and let them grow in hopes they'd take out Assad.

Oh, look, I see Jimayo (who still has me on ignore) is still using every opportunity he can to spread rumors and falsehoods about me.

Jimayo, while no doubt intelligent enough to get political stories and contexts right, when it comes to interpreting people's motivations I find he is one of the more stubborn posters I have ever had long conversations with on this board. You'll find after enough time with him that he sincerely has a black-and-white view of the world, and views partisan politics as a true barometer of morality. That is why he sees nothing immoral about engaging in personal attacks against people whose politics he disagrees with.

That he happens to believe he can judge me on a single dispute that was so polarizing and played so easily into people's pre-conceived stereotypes that it was impossible to develop any empathy with people who disagreed is I think a little telling. That he adds to it a stock insult along the lines of the "When did you beat your wife question", clearly intended to provoke and belittle, I think says all one needs to know about his morality.

I miss some of my old arguments with Jimayo because as I said, I think he gets his facts right and his interpretations wrong. But there is no hope of reconciliation between us.

As for being an admitted troll, I say what I think and a lot of times I am simply not impressed with how sincerely other people are outraged over things that are either extremely minor or so obviously partisan I can't understand how they don't see the other side. Politics is a contact sport as they say. But if someone can admit to there being some rationale for what I think, or acts to undermine it based on logic, argument or facts rather than ad hominem personal attacks, I get a lot less stubborn.

That's my reply to Jimayo for the year.

People don't understand the gravity of the pardon situation.

Trump sent a message loud and clear "If you support me and my agenda, I will make sure you don't get held responsible for your actions."

Coming from a man who has shown he has no scruples on using his powers, that should be terrifying.

Ask yourself this. If there was an Anti-Trump protest in DC and some Trump cultists beat/killed them, what would happen? Any crime in DC is a Federal Crime, meaning it can be pardoned. Can you say with confidence that Trump absolutely would not pardon them for attacking those who speak ill of him?

Would you bet your life on that?

I can see a scenario where a bunch of hispanics are protesting (e.g. Because of the pardon) and a trumpanzee wearing a MAGA cap arrives with a long knife and butchers a couple people, and he gets arrested by the police.

Trump would totally pardon him.
