But Trump won't specifically do so.

It makes political sense for him not too

Sure liberals online are jumping up and down about it right now but in a week they won't care.

Meanwhile if he does directly address it, that just draws attention to it and causes him to give legitimatcey to the age old "Conservatives are just nazis!" rhetoric.

Its kinda like how Richard Dawkins refuses to have debates about intelligent design, because the moment he does so, no matter how the debate goes it has legitimatized Intelligent Design by making it something debating scientifically.

Trump denoucing Nazis won't benefit him at all and will just make the naysayers louder, meanwhile in a week the same naysayers will move on to the next thing to be mad about

Why are everyday muslims expected to speak out on Islamic terrorism?

Because Islam is a religion and violence from it's followers is global.

It makes sense that peaceful Muslims should be the loudest voice in shutting down the violence. Yet in reality it tends to be white atheist voices that do so. Which is absurd on so many levels.

Comparing an American political party to a global growing religion is a little absurd. I don't think you shoud discourage religious people from criticising their religion and curbing extremism, I feel you should do literally the opposite of that

I think our past presidents would not have hesitated to denounce these views (the way many current politicians are) given these circumstances. And in many cases, they'd be doing so through gritted teeth, or outright lying. But Trump's inability to bring himself to condemn it is nothing but cowardice, and I don't think it will pay off as a political decision either, given the reaction from many conservatives.

George W. Bush was a monster. But he also understood that as president he had a responsibility to offer moral clarity in times of turmoil. Obama praised the police following the shooting in Dallas (and many other times besides).

After a conflict between Neo-Nazis who killed a woman, and those who oppose them, Trump has sided with neither.

I'm still trying to figure out how the German state owned the means of production. Krupp, IG Farben, Messerschmitt were pretty much all privately owned (along with damn near every other major manufacturing company in the Reich). Just because they manufactured military goods for the government doesn't mean they were state owned. Or do you consider Boeing a state owned company because they build military planes for the government?

    That makes perfect sense

    IF you say so.

Personally I don't think "It's okay to accept violence if you think another group is less violent!" is much of a defense of anything.

If my family ran around commiting murders I wouldn't buy "Well Charles Manson was worse" as an acceptable justification for not trying to stop and decry them.

In your fantasy land, maybe. I don't think black people or black political leaders have any obligation to speak out against or apologize for the absurd amount of homicides committed by black gang members. I do, however, criticize activist groups like BLM for completely ignoring that some of the issues black people have with police are directly related to the disproportionate crime statistics of that group, however.

Muslims are different from these racial groups in that they share a collective ideology that the terrorists use to justify terror attacks. I do think they need to distance themselves from atrocities done in the name of their religion and not allow radicals in their communities to go unreported.

So, like I said before, these people saying "silence is acceptance" are generally hypocrites.
