it's just weird that Democrats which kill hundreds of thousands of Republican soldiers are looked so fondly upon by Republicans
seriously though, i'm sure a lot of Republicans who answered this poll don't even know who Jefferson Davis is, so they just answered in opposition to Obama, not in support of Davis, but then it's like.... why didn't they pick the "not sure" option then?? i guess it could be the Jimmy Kimmel man-on-the-street type craziness..

68% of Trump supporters have a favorable view of Confederate General Robert E Lee Robert E. Lee didn't personally support slavery and thought it was an abomination. However, he personally believed the Union was committing war crimes by attacking innocent people so he agreed to lead the Confederate armies. Of course, snowflakes who haven't cared about these statues for decades are now pretending to for easy political points.

It must just be a guttural misinformed impulse to automatically vote against Obama at all times. Imagine actual Jefferson Davis in a presidential debate, not understanding literally anything about modern technology, diplomacy, or economics. He wouldn't even make it through the primaries.

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/28-approve-trumps-response-charlottesville-poll/story?id=49334079 Nine per cent of Americans say holding neo-Nazi or white supremacist views is acceptable, according to a new poll. This is the fifth scientific poll done in the past 2 weeks that measures support for far-right policies. I haven't had time to read the survey (plus i don't have a WaPo subscription) but i thought i'd drop this off here anyway
13% of American men believe it is acceptable to hold neo-Nazi/white supremacist views 13% of Republicans and "strong conservatives" agree 14% of young adults believe it is acceptable to hold neo-Nazi/white supremacist views What we're seeing on GameFAQs appears to be rather proportional to the American public at large.

Charliesix posted...68% of Trump supporters have a favorable view of Confederate General Robert E Lee Which, I suppose, is why Lee owned slaves himself, and was even by the standards of the time quite brutal in his treatment of them. His "opposition" to slavery was on the basis that he considered it a burden on white people. And the Union had yet to "attack" anybody, let alone "innocent people", at the time Lee chose to join the Confederacy.

Obviously there must be something wrong with President Obama if 45% of Trump supporters them are desperate enough to choose Jefferson Davis over him but only 7% (less than the nation as a whole!) have favorable views of Neo-Nazis and white supremacists. You'd have to be an entirely f***ed up tier of ignorant to believe that this says more about Obama than it does about the respondents.

No, it's a matter of at least 45% of Trump supporters being racist, but unwilling to actually admit they support white supremacists and neo-Nazis.

Yes, ignorant f***ing morons who have no idea what Jefferson Davis actually stood for or any of his policies are immediately buying into modern day right wing boogermanning and picking someone who isn't black. Thanks, Obama!
