It helps the cause because it shows that the alleged information was about Hillary's sketchy dealings with the Russians, of which the NYT omitted in its piece. Not about the email hacks of the DNC which is what the Trump-Russia conspiracy is about (and the "treason" of releasing the emails in exchange for pissing on NATO which of course is bogus since that was already Trump's position as far back as March, well before the hack and the Carter Page visit to Russia in July). Another big nothinburger from the NYSlimes. |

For people on the fence who read a variety of sources, preemptively dismissing them will just push them farther towards those sites. Nothing actually gets discussed or debated, so both sides just keep going on thinking they're in the right. I've noticed a lot of posters on this site doing it (the majority of them from the left), and it's by far the most frustrating thing about discussing politics here.
