I keep saying that we have a government that spends too much because it's too big, but no one seems to listen. Then they act all surprised when this s*** happens.

I'm by no means a fan of Trump. However, the law is the law. Do I feel bad for people who get busted with pot? Sure, but they broke a law and deserve jail time. (In states where it isn't legal)

Our laws state coming here like illegals mostly do isn't allowed. If you don't like the rules vote for people who would change them. Campaign for those people. Something.

But as of now the law is the law. People need to stop coming here illegally and the wall will help (possibly)

Is there any chance of them turning the wall into a tourist destination?

This is the wrong belief to have regarding the law. Law makers aren't any better than the rest of us and we know that they're susceptible to lobbying to create laws against our best interest. What I am saying is that you are supposed to scrutinize the law as opposed to accepting it as is.

I understand what you're saying. And I agree. I think it's stupid. And that's why you have people saying it should be done away with and open borders and all of that.

The wall is a good investment. Aside from reducing illegal immigration, it will also attract tourists and generate a lot of revenue that way.

Right. The wall would be bad, and the failure to achieve the wall would be the breaking of a (bad) campaign promise. These are not contradictory thoughts.

But the wall does not stop illegal immigration. Most illegal immigrants come by plane. They get a visa to stay here for a short while and never leave.

It will reduce it. And even didn't stop any illegal immigration at all, it would still generate tourist revenue and more than pay for itself.

It wont even reduce it, as many don't just cross the border. It isn't going to generate much if any tourist revenue. It will take decades to build and cost us billions of wasted dollars.

Shifting goalposts is not about arguing "contradictory thoughts" you geniuses. It's about bailing on a garbage stance that you realize you can't defend, to shift focus towards a totally different criteria. And in this case, both points are equally stupid.

The wall was going to be built, whether you wanted it to or not. (CEmocrats wrong)

Enforcing safe immigration laws and border security is not racist and is commonplace in pretty much every civilized nation on the planet. (CEmocrats wrong again)

It's not, but a Border Wall is still an inefficient use of resources to accomplish that task. You do not see every country in the world going out of their way to spend billions to build a wall across their borders.
