They're investigating whether Trump himself had knowledge of it or made contact with them. We know several people who have worked for his campaign or his current admin have.
Obama was born in Hawaii. There was no too secret cover up decades ago when he was born to fake that. He was born in Hawaii the year after it officially became a state. He wasn't a Kenyan born Muslim. Proof was available before Obama officially released his birth certificate. The two aren't comparable. |

Even though I think it way overblown, Benghazi is a much better comparison as far as "legitimate" investigations are concerned.
Except in this case, you have the president's own party leading the committees that are performing the investigation. |

I doubt Trump knew anything about Russia hacking in the election and clearly the level of the hacking was not much. That's not why Trump won. No Trump won because the Republican party didn't want to lose it's majority control of the supreme court. Of course Hillary's support being to spread out also hurt. There was no one reason.
I may not like it but Trump did win fairly at least fair enough. I believe the main reason people refuse to drop the Russia thing is because Trump refuses to drop the illegal votes things even though he won. Both sides need to drop this crap.

No the main reason is that we don't like the idea of people who hold major positions in our government colluding with foreign nations and allowing them to influence our elections. Whether it was Trump or not, if they determine that's what happened it's a huge concern. One of the major ones being what was that other nation promised in return for helping influence the election.
It is overblown for ratings. That much is obvious. But for what it is on the surface, if it's determined to be something that actually happened, no one should be ok with it.

The main reason people refuse to drop the Russia thing is because every week we find out about a new meeting that senior Trump campaign officials "forgot" to put on their SF-86 with Russian nationals. It's not as if the new information has stopped, Trump has been vindicated, and yet people still bring it up. Also, why do you feel comfortable saying "Clearly the level of hacking wasn't much"? Do you mean in terms of voting machines? A few months ago, people were confident that no such hacking was even close to happening. If you mean hacking period, what do you call the DNC stuff or the Podesta emails? How do you think that you would get this information anyway? How open do you think the intelligence community/presidency would be on the extent of hacking? I'm not saying "You should believe it happened!". I just don't understand the confidence. |

The fact that people thought the US Government would allow someone who wasn't born an American citizen to become President is alarming.

Honestly, Russia hacking the DNC emails is s***ty, and probably had some effect on the election, but the main bit of it is how soo many people in the Trump administration have some ties to Russia. Which again, probably wouldn't have amounted to alll that much. It's really all of their subsequent actions in trying to cover up what was probably a fairly minor thing. There's the possibility of multiple counts of perjury and obstruction of justice to really high ranking people all because they have almost uniformly made everything surrounding the Russia investigation exponentially worse. They're not shooting themselves in the foot, they're shoving hand grenades up their asses.
