  3. Trump Claims Credit For Shock Dem Win In Pennsylvania
cjsdowg 3 hours ago#1
President Donald Trump downplayed the significance of the Democratic victory in the special election in Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District on Wednesday, claiming that Conor Lamb won because he tried to be “like Trump.”

Lamb, a political newcomer, was projected to defeat state Rep. Rick Saccone in Tuesday’s election, although the margin was thin. ....

“The young man last night that ran, he said, ‘Oh, I’m like Trump. Second Amendment, everything. I love the tax cuts, everything.’ He ran on that basis,” Trump said at a fundraiser in Missouri on Wednesday, according to The Atlantic. “He ran on a campaign that said very nice things about me. I said, ‘Is he a Republican? He sounds like a Republican to me.’”

Lamb, in fact, ran against the GOP-passed tax cut law. And even conservative groups realized that the signature achievement of the Republican Congress wasn’t resonating with voters; they shifted away from that issue as the campaign went on. Saccone, however, tried to sell himself as a politician in the mold of Trump.

Just last weekend, Trump campaigned outside of Pittsburgh for GOP candidate Rick Saccone, a state senator whose message was built on support of Trump and his policies.

He's technically right in a roundabout way, but it's not because Lamb is like Trump.

here's what the conservative washington times printed about lamb's position on the tax cut law:

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/mar/12/conor-lamb-doesnt-understand-the-economics-of-tax-/

Voters in Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District get their chance this week — in a March 13 special election — to weigh in on the recent tax reform legislation that did not receive a single Democratic congressional vote. Democrat Conor Lamb is on the attack over tax reform, pledging to join congressional Democrats who want to repeal the recently enacted sweeping tax cuts

https://www.psychologytoday.com/conditions/narcissistic-personality-disorder

Definition

The hallmarks of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) are grandiosity, a lack of empathy for other people, and a need for admiration. People with this condition are frequently described as arrogant, self-centered, manipulative, and demanding. They may also concentrate on grandiose fantasies (e.g. their own success, beauty, brilliance) and may be convinced that they deserve special treatment. These characteristics typically begin in early adulthood and must be consistently evident in multiple contexts, such as at work and in relationships.

People with narcissistic personality disorder believe they are superior or special, and often try to associate with other people they believe are unique or gifted in some way. This association enhances their self-esteem, which is typically quite fragile underneath the surface. Individuals with NPD seek excessive admiration and attention in order to know that others think highly of them. Individuals with narcissistic personality disorder have difficulty tolerating criticism or defeat, and may be left feeling humiliated or empty when they experience an "injury" in the form of criticism or rejection.

Donald Trump is very smart. After all, Sun Tzu, author of The Art of War once said "Victorious warriors see who wins first, then pick a side."

Right?

Right?

The actual quote for anyone wondering is "Victorious warriors win first, then go to war."
What a winner. Even when his side loses he wins.

Imagine the idea that if GOP loses the Senate and House, Trump defects to the Dems so he'll always "win".

I think you guys are missing Ironys point here. A Democrat DID win in a solid red district thanks to Trump. America is rejecting Trump's shitty agenda and voting against his party in retaliation.

Sure there's always a pendulum swing, but the Trump administration gave that fucker a Chuck Norris style roundhouse kick on its way by
Tmaster148 2 hours ago#27
I was going to say that Trump wouldn't be incorrect as he's likely a big reason people are voting democrat now. But he is wrong that it was because the democrat ran on Trump policies.
The Republican party put out multiple videos calling Lamb a liberal sheep following Pelosi. This spin attempt has been pathetic
There have always been about a dozen or so anti-abortion democrats at any given time. Most democrats are not in favor of gun bans, just additional restrictions. This isn't the binary issue people make it out to be.
Lamb isn't even anti abortion from a legislative aspect, just personally against it. Which is what plenty of Democratic politicians(Tim Kaine) and voters are as well.

Eh pretty sure that's just a standard move in the Republican playbook. Same with being openly homophobic and anti-gay and then getting caught cheating on your wife with a guy.

i definitely feel that personal/legal hypocrisy with abortion is one of the more contemptible traits in a politician.
