John Oliver did a piece on Puerto Rico's debt crisis last year. The territory is basically the work of over-spending and people buying up debt so they can make a profit off of the repayment.
 Now they have all the clean up from this hurricane to go through.

What I read, the defaulted bonds were from the development of the course, then Trump came in years later as it was losing money to basically operate and manage the course. Ultimately it wasn't turned around and they defaulted. I wouldn't say he's directly responsible for those defaults since they were outstanding before he came on and the course was losing money and on the course to default. You could blame him for not turning the course around.
