No, average temperatures over long periods gives a much better picture, and they only show one thing, temperatures are going up(on average!).

IIRC global warming doesn’t mean every place would get hotter. It would screw with the distribution of weather and air currents worldwide and leave some places colder. The average would just go up.

I would say Trump's approach is easily refuted by the global average temperature, (which reached record highs this year) and how cherry picking a specific region in a specific time vs the whole system under examination for the rest of the year is phenomenally bad reasoning.
But what do I know? I'm only a Meteorologist by training...not a Climatologist like Trum-...ohhhh. Wait.
